About Us

The NCCU Center for Buddhist Philosophy devotes itself to promoting the study of Buddhist philosophy, to providing a hub for Buddhist scholars, to producing excellent scholarly works on Buddhist Philosophy, and to reviving scholars’ interests in Sino-Indian Buddhist sources.

The study of Buddhist philosophy has a long tradition at NCCU, tracing all the way back to two eminent scholars Chen Daqi (1886-1983), a leading scholar in Buddhist logic, and Ouyang Wuwei (1913-1991), a pioneer in the studies of Tibetan Buddhism in Taiwan. The strength of the current faculty lies in utilizing Sino-Indian sources to contribute to the study of Buddhist philosophy. It is our mission to revive the interests in the studies of Sino-Indian Buddhist sources.
